Time is running fast like the strongman runners in the streets of Rovereto. 16 days left from the start of  Fisherman’s Friend StrongmanRun The Original – 20k, organized by RCS Sport – RCS Active Team, it is time for the  traditional press conference.

During the today meeting with the media at Palazzo Alberti Poja, it has been presented the main traits of the most awaited Italian stage on Saturday 22nd of September and two new obstacles have been showed, after the first two “flying” obstacles unveiled in the end of July.

Obstacle n°9 – “ La Sportiva 90 METERS OF GLORY”: Located in Corso Bettino, close to the MART, it will be long 90 meters in honour of the technical sponsor, which celebrates 90 years in 2018. The first segment will be composed by a sequence of tiers, followed by a container full of water. Then, the participant will have to face hay balls, a passage inside concrete tubes and a ramp, on which they will go to reach a group of containers located at 5 meters of height. Finally, the participants will enter inside a tank plenty of mud.

Obstacle n°12 – The participant will have to pass through a naval net of  12×7 meters to reach the Leno. During the passage through the river, two fire trucks will obstruct the participants by throwing strong jets of water. The participants will have to climb using the ropes in to reach the road and continue the race.

The start will be about  02.00 pm in Via Giacomo Tartarotti, where the runners are going back after 10km to pass through the finish line and start the second lap. One of the news of the 2018 edition is that the route is completely set in the city with the passage inside the Quercia Rovereto Città della Pace e dello Sport stadium,  the crossing of the Brione Neighborhood and the double crossing of the Leno river.

For us September is traditionally the month of the Fisherman’s Friend StrongmanRun, an unmissable date since 7 year, since when we decided to import in Italy this kind of format, which is able to conciliate competition and its exuberant trait” Andrea Trabuio, Mass Events Technical Manager RCS Sport – RCS Active team, has said “ it has become a challenge for ourselves to introduce new things, both related to the route in order to make the participants experience harder, and related to the collateral events in order to attract more viewers. even this year I would say mission accomplished and who will be here won’t be disappointed

“We are glad that our city, known mostly for its cultural events, can be the host again of a big event that contributes to promote Rovereto as destination”  Francesco Valduga, Rovereto’s Major, has commented.

This year the old town comes back to be main character. Like every year we make available to RCS Sport all the energies necessary to organise an event that give to our lovely city a funny and friendly weekend.  The event continues the next Sunday with othere two events: Baby Run and King of Fireman” Mario Bortot, Rovereto’s Councillor for the Sport, has commented.

The official jersey of the event has been revealed for the first time. It has been  provided for the second year by the technical sponsor La Sportiva, leader company from Trento in climbing shoes and mountain boots.

Among the runners there will be a special guest: the ultratrailer athlete Michele Evangelisti will run with his team of 10 members  and surely he will be a leader for all the participants

There will be Sport Mental Coaches from Ekis Sport to support the runners. Ekis a leading company in coaching services, consulting and educational courses. From July, all the participants have been able to follow a digital course about mental training. Moreover, they will be followed even before the race to complete the training and during the race in case of necessity.
